So it begins!
Planning for my next trip that is which will be to Korea, yah! I've been wanting to go back there for a while now, particularly in the last 5 years or so mainly fueled by my growing interest in k-dramas & k-pop (ㅋㅋㅋ) and generally wanting to be more fluent in Korean.
The last time I was there was over 20 years ago so I know much has changed, including myself. I'll probably start preparing like how I did for my Tokyo trip, that being with a couple of Lonely Planet books and spending many hours on the internet doing research. I'm hoping to be able to blog about my prep progress as my departure date approaches.
I have already booked my flight and I'll be staying with relatives. I'm not planning to rely on them to take me around and show me the sites nor would I want to burden them with that as they are much older now. I scored a pretty good price ($1290 including tax) for my flight. I managed to get my ticket on the very last day Korean Airlines was offering "3 month" tickets. I learned that Korean Airlines usually offers only "1 year" tickets (meaning your departure and return have to be within a year) but they started offering 3 month tickets this year until just recently. The 1 year tickets are about $300 more.
