Updates

I think it's about time I updated this blog. Well, I went to Seoul, Korea for 3 weeks and came back with a ton of wonderful memories. I don't know why but whenever I leave to travel and come back home, I feel like I've become a little more sad than I was before I left. Emo.

At any rate, the bottom line is the trip was amazing, I spent 19 out of 21 days seeing the better part of Seoul and I would love to go back again. It will probably take me a while to kind of sit back and start writing about what I did for those 21 days but the urge will come when I realize the memories are starting to fade. Be patient blog!

Day 14: Miffy Store and Lotte World Ice Skating Rink

Through watching various Korean dramas and variety shows, I came to know a little about Lotte World before my visit today, mainly that it was part amusement park and also part indoor skating rink. On several occasions, I've seen the amusement park and rink used as the backdrop for romantic scenes or family outings. As I was heading there alone, I made up my mind prior that I wasn't going to check out the amusement park part of it. I was going more to check out the ice rink instead. I knew there was also a mall component so I planned to do some window shopping as well. I was familiar with the route to Lotte World as I had gone to the Jamsil area once earlier in my trip to visit the COEX Mall. Day 12: Namsan (Sam-soon) Stairs and Park

I headed off to my next destinations which were the Namsan Stairs and Park. My wanting to visit these 2 places was totally inspired by Korean TV. To someone not in the know, the Namsan Stairs looks like any other set of concrete stairs. To many Korean Drama lovers though, these stairs are most famous for being featured in the drama “My Lovely Sam-soon”. To me however, these stairs will always be defined as place were Alex (of Clazziquai ) and Shin Ae reunited for their second run on MBC’s We Got Married. As you can probably tell from my blog posts, I’ve been a fan of the show since the beginning and though many couples have come and gone, the AlShin Couple is still my favourite couple of all time.^^ If you want to see the segment featuring the AlShin Couple at the Namsan Stairs that inspired me to go, you can watch it right here ! Day 6: The 1st Shop of Coffee Prince

Today was Saturday and there were a couple of events going on that I wanted to check out which determined my schedule for the day. The first was the Free Market in Hongdae that happens every Saturday and the other was a fireworks show along the Hangang River. While I always had plans from the beginning to check out the Free Market, I was never all that serious about visiting The 1st Shop of Coffee Prince Cafe where they filmed the MBC Drama of the same name, though I always had thoughts to. I watched the drama during its run on MBC and found it very enjoyable and thought they used really great music throughout the drama. It had been several years however since it aired so my enthusiasm wasn’t the same now as it was then.
